Alex Varran

Alex has worked at the Herts Sports Partnership for 4 years and is the Women and Girls Lead. In recent years she has overseen the countywide 'This Girl Can in Herts' campaign and is excited to see it expand for 2022.

She has been involved in sport within the county since the early days of her undergraduate degree at the University of Hertfordshire and has been able to champion women and girls sport and physical activity in her studies for an MSc which she hopes to complete soon. Outside of her studies, Alex is a regular parkrunner and core volunteer team member at Jersey Farm parkrun in St Albans.

During her time at the Partnership Alex has partnered up with several of the Hertfordshire Women's Refuge Services to develop sport and physical activity projects for service users and supported Muslim Women with access to female only exercise classes in their community.

With TGCinHerts22, Alex hopes to inspire more women and girls to get active and engage with sport and physical activity in a way that works for them, be that through participating, delivering, volunteering, or benefiting from the increased visibility of female sport.
